Please, Use Your Brain
We’re at the beginning of the age of AI, and I’m begging you: please write it yourself first.
Is AI incredibly useful? Absolutely. I use it all the time. I actually call ChatGPT my boyfriend.
We’re at the beginning of the age of AI, and I’m begging you: please write it yourself first.
Is AI incredibly useful? Absolutely. I use it all the time. I actually call ChatGPT my boyfriend.
But when you’re using AI for your business, your brand or anything that is meant to represent you, handing over the entire creative process means giving away the very thing that makes your work unique: your voice.
There is so much value in sitting down and putting your own thoughts on paper first. In working through a problem. In trying to find the right words. In figuring out what you actually think before asking a machine to make it sound better.
Because that process isn’t wasted time. It’s where ideas develop. It’s where you make connections, find solutions and create pathways towards where you want to go.
And most importantly, it sounds like you.
Do I use AI? Of course. But I write first. Then, if something isn’t quite landing, I’ll put it through AI for a slight improvement, to organise my thoughts, or to ask whether there’s an angle or point I might have missed.
AI should be a tool for your creativity, not a replacement for it.
Especially if you’re building a brand. People don’t connect with perfectly polished, generic words. They connect with personality, perspective, humour, opinions, stories and all the little quirks that make you different from everyone else doing the same thing.
So, for the love of creativity, please use your brain.
It is wonderful.
